I rode a new Polaris FST today after work. The local Polaris dealer had a demo that they were letting people ride. It has 135 Hp pushing a 144", 1.25" track. Overall, it seemed like a very nice sled. Very quiet, but I don't think it sounds as cool as my Rage with the exhaust out the back. Power wise it seemed to have quite abit of torque, but there was some turbo lag. Once the turbo kicked in though it pulled pretty good. Felt like a long sled, don't really throw that 144 around real easy. I didn't really care for the riding postion, but the adjustable bars are kind of cool. Although, I don't know how durable they will be.

Overall, I like my Yami much better and think it is a better all around sled!!!!!! :yam:

It was hard to tell.....didn't really have too much room to really get on it. (in town) So I am not sure on top end. I think the Yami would take it off the line. Once that turbo spools up I think it would probably be fairly even. Would like to have the chance to be able to ride them back to back to get a good comparision.

A buddy of mine Pol fan with a Fusion bought a FST for his wife even though I pushed him for a Venture. He is having some issues so we checked out the FST site on HCS and they are all having some major problems, units were delivered way late guys missed riding, the teeth are all shearing off the starter gear so some units got shipped back to Polaris and some dealers fixed them but it required engine removal, so guys missed more riding time, now they are riding and the sled pops out of gear at 70 MPH so more down time. Once it does run they need oil and filter change every 1500 miles you have to pump out the oil, and valve adjustment every 3,000 miles. I rode it and the Power is good but the turbo puts out a lot of heat. My wife will be sticking with the Vector.

Yeah........I have not heard about if they have been having any luck with their four stroke. I just wanted to ride it and see what it felt like. I am sure that they will keep improving it.

I just read this on another site regarding a 06 FST Classic racing on the lake versus an apex. Here's his story:

I then traded sleds with her on Lake Nokomis (WIS) and me and the boys lined em up. There was a Apex in the bunch We all knew the Apex would be out front (so he lined up ahead of the pack) WELL...the results are...DADDY LIKES!!!! I pulled all but the Apex.... NO PROBLEM!! And the frosting on the cake came when my good buddy of 25 years (on the Apex) was picking up his left hand to look in his mirror as to where we all were. And I wasnt were he expected me to be! I was instead slightley behind on his left. SUPPRIZED US ALL!! I will say this to yamaha fans. The apex is fast and appears to be a fine sled (and it will of coarse keep pulling after 100) It is a 1000cc after all. If it didnt walk away from a 750 well... Id walk away from it! I am suprised and pleased to discover how the FST rates. That said just TRY TO IMAGINE how I felt walking into the bar and telling my buddies that my wifes (luxury trail) sled just smoked em! GOD I LOVE THIS SPORT!!! I will be driving the FST Switchback next year

I know of 2 FST'S in my area that are having reverse and chaincase problems one guys blew the first day right in a hayfield the other blew while on tour in quebec.
not cool after getting the sleds so late in the season :yam:
