Just traded my Attak for an XTX. Had Powderhounds with Bergstrom triples, ski savers and shims on the Attak. I am going to put the Powderhounds on the XTX. Looking for anyone running this setup to make suggestions for what works for them.

I have a set on my XTX. However I have zero miles on them to make an honest judgement. I did some reserch before I bought them and found out that the general concensus was that the Powder Hounds were a good ski on the heavy front end of the XTX. In my opinion Sly Dog makes a great product.

They had no trouble holding up the Attak while off trail. I just hope they work the same on the XTX.

I was buying a set for my XTX, but ended up getting a used set of curves....just hope the curves float like the PH

Keep me posted on those... I'm looking for a setup that is good for groomed trails and soft snow for the odd venture on a powdery lake. I do 95 percent trail riding...

I have ph onmy xtx and have since new. 2500 miles last year and must say they are 7 out of 10. My c&a razors on my f7 made a more noticable difference. I think they are good ski but I think the nytro is just a more difficult sled to setup. I tried to shim, toe in/out, flip ski rubbers with less then desired results. Best riding I did was with a small bit of loose snow on top of a hard base. Hope my trail pro makes this thing rail, I would not blame the ski's though.

Did you use the stock ski rubber or the ones from Slydog? The stock ones fit very loose with the Powderhounds.

Slydog rubbers. I think it's the sled more then anything.

Slydog ski rubber
Should we be using the stock rubber with these or the Slydog rubber?
I called Slydog to inquire about this as I felt the stock rubber fit a little loose as well and they told me to use the stock rubber.
I put 3/8" worth of shim under the front of the stock rubber. These are Slydog trial skis not the PH's. Does anyone know what the best rubber and shim combo is for these Slydogs, stock or Slydog??

I got a chance to ride the XTX's last week. One has the shims and one does not. Other than that, they are identical. I can't say that I really noticed any difference between shims and no shims. The snow was fairly wet and was starting to set up due to cooler weather. I did like that it went wherever I pointed it. The steering response was the same as my attak with the same setup.

I have the Slydog rubbers with the Powderhounds, Ski savers (3/8") and Bergstrom Triples. I did not adjust toe in or out. One XTX has no shims while my other has shims under the front of the rubber. Can't say as of yet that the shims make any noticeable difference.

I had hounds on my xtx last year for a short time, the performance was good but I found the steering effort to be too much for me to handle. I now run SLP powder pros with the same performance and half the effort.

I must say that with TR springs on my sled now the PowderHounds handle night and day better. NO darting, Very Very Very little steering effort and good floatation. Last year 7/10......this year 10/10.
