figured i'd make a thread about this since I haven't really seen much about them really.....my trial and tribulations....haha

ordered a bunch of parts to fix my sled after my rollover....got the mtx bars....which are the same as the apex ones i'm assuming

so they are like 3" lower then the stock xtx bars....so risers are needed to make it right

ordered the powermadd pivot adapter for Yamaha from dealer (parts Canada) and 2" pivot riser (2 to start and if I can fit it i'll order a 4")

so anyway......to mount the pivot adapter you need to drill the threads out of the steering post...no biggie

got it mounted up.....looked good....mounted the 2" riser block.....has the look I was going after

set the mtx bars on....hmmm.......they are too narrow to fit the gap of the block (nytro is an inch narrower then any sled out there)

so...in the face of adversity.....something has to be done....haha....my father being a welder/mechanic/machinist is going to cut my bars and make a spacer and tig them back up....might not be the best solution but at least I can use the stock rivet holes for the handwarmers and use a larger array of riser blocks now

just thought i'd toss this little bit of information out there in case it answers questions anyone has about these things...i'll post completed pictures of it when its done if anyone cares

i went a different route than you did. i got some 7/8's pipe from a local place for like $3 and cut it just wide enough to stick out 3/4" past the oem mounting location. then i bought fly risers which are two seperate risers for about $70. then i clamped them to the lower pipe and to my handlebars. you can adjust them a bit more width wise as yamaha bar clamp areas are very small. i ended up replacing the yamaha bars in the end because of how narrow they are but here is my pro tapers with the same set up.

that looks good !

I have some moto x bars kicking around the house, was going to use them....decided not to at this point

my plan is next year to go with the fly carbon sno x bars (1 1/8) I like the fact that I can get an adapter that bolts right to the riser block from powermadd though

that's if I still have a nytro :( our snow conditions are pissing me off here in new Brunswick....sled payments...trail passes....insurance and registration.....wonder if its even worth it most days.....i'm getting aggravated with my riding friend too....rather go out on the quad then the sled....that's not what i'm paying money for....I need new places to go

Hey Dub, get yourself a trailer to haul your sled to places where there is snow, and find new sledding buddies who like the powder instead of trails.....(you know who we are lol). Or stud your dirtbike tires.

As far as riser set up, im also using the PM Pivot Riser, but with 4"RSI Risers on top of that.
