Is their anything I should watch for as far as preventive maintenance, the sled is turning 9000kms/5600 miles everything is stock and very well maintained, cleaned w/compressed air, no lubricants used.
I'm not to familiar to YAMI clutches and durability, they seem to be very reliable and I want to keep that way.
I use to own a CAT 800 EFI, it needed bushings replaced every 1500 miles, I know this is a YAMI just want to make sure I don't break down in presence of a CAT!
Thanks

I pulled mine apart at 10,300 km and carefully inspected and measured the bushings, etc.
I was very impressed at the fact that the main bushings were still in good shape and didn't need replacing.
All I needed to do was shim the spider buttons (Yamaha sells shims for a couple of $ each). I checked for slop in the main bushings again at 16,500 kms and they were still in good condition.
I used to ride Polaris and like Cat, primary bushings needed replacing on a regular basis (roughly 5000 miles/8000 kms).
Too bad the 05 suspensions didn't live up to Yamaha's typically superior durability...

Replace the $15 primary spring. Check any bushed parts for side to side play. If everything is nice & tight re assemble & enjoy!

I forgot to mention the spring. By 10,300 kms the rpms were starting to get out of spec; too low. I installed the Ulmer kit and with a little fine tuning the rpms were right back where they should be and the performance was better than ever (not to mention a smooth, lower rpm engagement - stock my sled always had a harsh engagement at about 4500).
