i would like to know what other brand of primary springs fit the yamaha clutch? i am running the drag&fly weights and have my shift curve right where i want it but would like to lower my engagement 3-500 rpm for better hookup in soft snow . right now i have the white spring that came with the kit in, rated at 170-300 and my heel is already loaded max. will the polaris springs fit? what rate would get my engagement to drop 3-500 rpm's 140-300 is what i'm guessing but not sure. thanks for any help.
You can use stock yamaha springs & lighten the heel. Your also gonna have to lighten up the other holes. You can get engagement super low using yammie springs but you have to start the tuning process all over.

thanks turk, i started watching your clutch set-ups back in 97-98 and i was usually with in about 1 gram different than your set-ups always in the same ball park so i enjoy doing my own set -up and then comparing to yours, i think we both like to set-up with a shallower helix's and more weight to get good sqeeze and back shift, i think that 0-100 as fast as yuo can get their beats the hell out of trying togo 120mphall day. because we know that most won't get their anyhow. what rate yamaha spring do you suggest to start withto get about 3500- 3800 engagement 35-40? and what shift rateworks best with the d&f's 2-2.5-3 ? i have a pretty good selection of yamaha springs and helix's to use but i haven't tuned heel clickers with yamahasprings yet, i usually can get them were i want them on the two strokes but the four strokes seem to like a lower engagement to be trail freindly below 15mph. thanks again
The stock y-s-y works well. I set up a 05 rx-1 with that spring & 2 speeds & he had deadly low end belt squeeze. I use hh,s bolts for fine tuning as they go as low as 1 gram alumunum & fit in the hc holes.
