So my sled got warm a couple times yesterday from icy conditions but let it cool as soon as the light came on. Well today I was looking the sled over and noticed the coolant was low in the rad but the overflow bottle was pretty much filled to the top, I thought the overflow bottle was suppose to go back into the rad when the system cooled down. Anyone have any ideas?

You may have air in the system and need to burp it out. Check this thread http://www.ty4stroke.com/threads/coolant-system-air-purge.115330/

OK so I was just bleeding the coolant system and when I started the the sled on a slant with the cap off and coolant was spurting out for a few seconds, it them turned to some bubbles then stopped and eventually the thermostat opened and the coolant was flowing well. So is the the spurting coolant normal?

my guest is head gasket might start to go you one cylinder leak in the water jacket and over pressurized the cooling system and trigger rad cap the release pressure in overflow which drain the system and create air lock. if she spit coolant there a issue the radiator cap open between 15-19.5 psi that a lot of pressure i would be worry it could be something stupid has a faulty rad cap i hope this help

Well on Friday I was out for 6 hours in good snow conditions and it didn't overheat once, I'm thinking it was the terrible snow conditions causing the coolant to boil over and spit out then pulling air back in.

I heard both good and bad about evan water less coolant. I know one that tried it on a polaris and had to go back to regular coolant because the sled only overheated with evans in it.

Run a 50/50 coolant and use ice scratchers whenever the conditions are hard. I haven't seen my light since I switched to this setup.

I read up on it some time ago and the biggest problem was it will break down and leave a black sludge similar to molasses. It was also mentioned that if run this way it will harden into a granulate and block coolant passageways. So not the best selling feature in my opinion. Here's some more info
