brother did build one and it works well. i did mod it so that it has a 1/2" drive socket welded onto the jack screw. never used a drill to raise/lower it but only need a normal ratchet to raise/lower a sled.

thanks. Just returned the one from princess auto as the quality was very poor. Hard to raise and lower even with a ratchet. The frame wasn't welded square.

i have 2 from royal distributing and they lift the apex's not too bad. my problem is i need one for a 20" wide track and i have not found one anywhere.
