Rear Skid Removal

Question: What is the best procedure for removing and installing the rear skid? Example: sequence of bolt removal, relieving spring tension, removal of rear axle. Just looking for the easiest way to do this. I have an 04 Warrior.

have a factory repair manual handy.if you never did the rear axel the spacers and shims can be confusing.
