I have a couple scratches on the black plastic side panels on the nytro along with a couple dull spots. I used meguirs back to black and it helps somewhat on the dull spots but nothing for the scratches, and as soon as it gets wet it gets all streaky and looks terrible. What are you guys using to cover up scratches and dull spots, that plastic (that covers the clutch) scratches so easy I put a nice one in it when I caught it with my finger nail.

I got into a snowfence last year. Ripped the sticker, put a ton of scratches in the side. I sanded them down and sprayed the black plastic with an aerosol bedliner and replaced the sticker. You can't tell it was ever scratched.

if the scratches are fine you should be able to get them out with some 0000 steel wool.

Hey Yamaha06. I've got the same sled as yours. Love the tunnel on yours. That took some time!!
Two things I can tell you.
1) DO NOT try magic eraser. It is a great product, but on plastic (some plastic) it will turn it dull. It will be a totally different color. I used it on my side panels when I had a yellow 08 Ski-Doo, and I swear I almost threw them away and ordered new. HUGE mistake
2) SC1 Polish. I have tried everything on plastic. This stuff works. The scratches will be gone. Spray it on and just leave it. Let is soak in abit. It's like magic. I have 2-3 cans on hand at all times.

The scratches are very fine, you can't even feel them just see them. Wouldn't steel wool and sanding put more scratches in this plastic? I will have to look for SC1 Polish, I haven't seen it in any of the stores around here in Ontario though.

any sanding or steel wool on the rough texture of the black plastic will put a shine to the plastic. Making it look worse than it already does. Leave it alone if it's not too bad. If you do sand it or use steel wool cover the area with the aerosol bedliner. It will look near perfect

I found that using a piece of thin carboard or bristolboard like that of a cigarette pack insides, rubbed vigorously with pressure in circles removes them. I think it just warms it and seals it.
I'm not kidding try it!

i use a heat gun on a low setting and it brings it back to almost new condition, it also works great on colored plastics if they have a crease mark in them as you can make it look like it never happened!
