Removing the handlebar cap?

I want to adjust my handlebars but not sure about how to remove the cap on 09 fx. I was thinking that it just pops off but it feels like im going to break it. Is there a clip or something or should I just yank on it?

It just clips on. The sides snap tight around the handle bar.

Just pops off. It snaps pretty tight so you have to treat it like the ugly red headed step child to get it off!
