2017 Yamaha sidewinder RTX
I am looking for a replacement running board for my 2017 Yamaha sidewinder RTX. I am having difficulty finding aftermarket options because of the short track and was wondering if there are other models that I could look for as parts sleds that would interchange. I appreciate the help! I have been out of snowmobiling for quite a few years and just got this sled in trade. Once I get the running board fixed I am moving on to the list of fixes/ upgrades for these early sidewinders.

What about the new cat models? They have composit running boards. Do you have a Cat dealer near you, check with them.

Barn of parts he has used parts sleds i believe??

The cat dealer can get the entire tunnel assembly with running boards but it is very expensive if I only need to drill and remove one running board. Barn of parts appears to be exactly what I am looking for! I will reach out to them and hopefully if they don't have a sidewinder RTX they know if any other sleds have the same running boards. Thanks guys! I'll let you know how it goes either way.

I should have added that the new Cat models I was refering to have removable running boards. I don't know how difficult it would be to make fit on a sidewinder however.

I love the look of the 2018-21 viper/sidewinder extreme running boards from CR racing. I would definitively go with these. Does anyone know if they fit a 2017 sidewinder with a 129" track.

I thought all the tunnels were the same and just the back portion was different.

That would be amazing if they are! I checked the part numbers for the tunnels and the second 2 letters in the part numbers were different between the models. I guess I just assumed the running boards and mounting locations would also be longer on the sleds with longer tracks.

im pretty sure most are the same. Not 100% though.

You could look at the Vipers also. I switched mine to the reinforced side pieces off a LE or in Cats A RR. Just would have to straighten out the sheet metal that’s bent which should be easy once side piece is off.

Just give CR racing a call, Chad is awesome to deal with, im pretty sure they would fit, I know they do on the 146 tunnels, same boards for a 174

What about the ice age stuff?

I didn't care for the set i had on my old doo, but that was a good 10 years ago, the new ones on the website for the cat chassis look nice.

Typically they make a good product, I have their bomber rails on my MTX and they are holding up way better than the stock ones did. I had a few questions during the install and called Ice Age and they answered my questions without any troubles.

Ice Age or CRacing boards are going to be a vast improvement over the POS boards they put on these sleds.

I called CR Racing and they confirmed their boards would fit the RTX 129". I will post back after I get them installed to confirm this. Thank you everyone for the help!
