Reverse Gear Idler ER

:o| Hate it when this happens. Which side of the idler gear does the drive chain run? Between the gear and chaincase, left side facing gear (not much clearance to the wear plate if so. Seems like a loose chain would cause rubbing of the chain against the wear plate), or bent inboard with chain running on the right side of gear (This would result in a figure 8 chain with both sides of the chain squeezed towards the center.)? Forgot to take a picture before changing top gear. #$%&*
 
Thanks. That's the way I had done it, but after getting all buttoned up the clearance between the chain and wear pad started to bother me.
