Had a blown fuse for the reverse actuator, pulled the actuator and found no damage it works until I put it back into the sled. Does the gear on the sled have to be moved to a different position?

Thats the way the manual says to do it. Turn the gear clockwise until it comes off the detent block. Makes lining up the actuator screws easy. With that said it sounds like your problem is different. We've had 2 Vipers that the actuator has failed and needed to be replaced. Yours sounds more like the gear on the back of the actuator, the teeth on the plastic gear wears out. Some have turned that gear 180* with success for more life out of the actuator.
