Re: XTX Speeds
I had similar results racing my wife on her 06 600 gade yesterday.
Trails were in my favor - frozen set up groomed trails. I've got 144 studs & she has none.
Lined up & I got the holeshot & was ahead by 2 sled lengths till about 80 mph & then I see her gaining on me - BIG TIME. I'm to the bar & she FLYS by me on the top end!!! WTF! This is a 600 gade with a 1.25" 16 x 136 powdermax track on it for gawd sakes.
Race was maybe 1/4 mile.
Raced a few more times with similar results. Nytro holeshots & gade top ends it.
Next we try in 1 1/2 ft of powder. I'm expecting her to holeshot me & hold it to the top. WRONG! Nytro jumps out by 2-3 sled lengths & she never catches me. again - WTF!! I thought the gade would shine in the powder. Not the case. Lined up again & even swapped sleds. Same result - nytro launched hard in the powder with the 1.25" predator 6 pitch. Gade can't catch it.
So needless to say - I'd say yes - the nytro should be compared to 600 cc sleds. Outta the hole it launches hard - always has - but the top end is less than stellar.
On tight n twisty trails - the gade kills the nytro for handling. There is no way in hell I can ride my Nytro as fast as I can the gade. ZERO inside ski lift, razor sharp handling, predictable as all hell in the corners(the Gade)
Over rough ditches - again - the suspension/handling is SUPERIOR to the nytro. Flys straight n level, never bucks or kicks, not twitchy, & the suspension soaks up everything.
This is MY opinion only - I've got 6500 kms on my Nytro so I think I'm allowed to have an opinion on the subject. But I was thoroughly impressed with the 600 gade in ALL conditions.

I have a friend who has the 09 XTXlike I do & he has added wieghts to his clutch & he has seen 107MPH but mine has only seen 96MPH. I have raced with both my buddies, one has an 06 - 600 SDI & the other has an 08 - 600 SDI and I smoke them both off the line & to about 85MPH but they both catch & pass me & yes we are all to the bar. I find this sled rocks 0 - 90MPH & then its a crawl, not sure why?

I don' think it's the motor, but it's something about that chassis where there is just no speed in it.

Re: XTX Speeds
I have been fighting with my self for awhile to jump ship to an XP,But I think I am going to stay with the Nytro and dial her in a little more. In some trail conditions this sled rocks others not so much. But I don't want to have to worry about blown belts and other stuff the XP brings to the table.BLUEBALLER said:backstop said:I am not sure ho wyou guys are getting these speeds or are keping up with or beating 800's. I really like my XTX and for my first 4 stroke I am extremely pleased. I have added some nice stuff to it to have it's own look & I'm not sure if I will ever go back to 2 stroke or not. I came from Doo & I agree with blueballer the Nytro does not handle in the twisties like a Doo, they have them dialed in for sure. I would disagree somewhat about it's handling in the ditches & rough stuff. This XTX really shines in the ditches & over the rough stuff & I would have to say much better than my 06 SDI ( can't comment on the Gade becasue I have never had the pleaseure of riding one. I have heard they are gaining some popularity though ) Now this being said my wifes new 550F blew a piston at 900 miles & it has been at the dealer now going on it's third week. They originally say we have no warrenty & I say What??...1000 miles & you are not backing your product??? A week later although no progress on the repair they have come around to say they will cover it & hopefully we will get it back this Friday. We spent some $$$ on a new sled not to have these issues and she has now missed three week-ends of riding in a very short season ...not cool Doo...not cool. So I will take the slight drawbacks to the Nytro & enjoy all of it's advantages, it is the best 4 stroke on the market & I am happy to be on this team!

I find that my Nytro is a strong 800 out of the hole and an avg 600 on the top.

Not bad for a "heavy four stroke", eh ?

A little off topic guys but there was a thread on here last year about the 08 Nytro and which ones ran stronger. It was something to do with the production date. I done a search but could not find anything, can anyone help me out.

i got a buddy with a polaris 600 sp and hes picked carbides etc. om not and he hopleshots about as hard as me ( grant it that i probly got a 100 punds on his tiny behind) But as soon as i hook up and the skis touch the ground im gone 8 to 9 sled lengths probably over a qtr of a mile. but on freshly groomed trails i watch him walk away from me as i feel like im gonna tip over though the corners. Rough stuff i walk away I dont get it?????
