2005 RS Rage
I just installed a Rox 2" Pivot Riser on my 2005 Rage. I really like the higher position of the handle bars (I'm 6'3") but now I have a new problem. When I took it out for the last ride this season, I was jumping off some hills and I landed it a little hard. I ended up pivoting the riser all the way down to the gas tank enough to yank on the throttle cable and set off the TORS. I have tightened down the original mounting block as much as I can on the riser but its aluminum on aluminum so I'm not sure what else to do to keep it from slipping again. Would maybe putting a piece of rubber (like a piece of inner tube) help? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Will Loctite work on aluminum to aluminum contact? The finish on the clamp and the extention are both pretty smooth. Should I use some sand paper or something to rough them up a bit first?

since rox risers are made of 6061 aluminum (has copper in the aluminum) the regular loctite should work: medium strength 242 or maximum strength 271 would be my suggestions the 271 is made for slip joints also... and you can use these around the shop later. You could also try and "pein" the mating surfaces with a center punch to put a texture to aid in gripping the riser.

I marred mine with some kind of hard mesh material my buddy gave me and it hasn't moved even slightly.
