RX1 mountain bar cover

i'm adding a mt strap to my 05 rx1 and i was wondering will the rx1 mt. bar cover work with handguards? is it narrower or the same size as the standard one with holes. yamaha doesn't make the narrower black style with the reg. holder anymore which would be perfect. anyone have one? thanks
