rx1 muffler material

Just curious..I have a 03 rx1 with the stock exhaust on it. I want to cut it open, I may have a big nest in it!! Can someone tell when what its made out of?. Can I just weld it back up???...Thanks

Yes you can only its just mild steel. Only the y pipes were made from titanium in the 05 and up models.
