I have 03 RX1 that i have had for two seasons know that i bought used which the previous owner had it clutched. After i bought a second 03 RX1 last year i have notice that it seems like when you let up on the gas there is a drag or something is real tight, like track. Notice more on jack stand also when loading on trailer you can smell the belt. I was wondering if it has to do with the clutch kit? Bearings have all been checked or replaced. I think i might try swapping primary and secondary to see if any different. Any one run into this concern? THANKS

draging

i think what you are feeling is engne breaking the clutched sled has more miles and the kit,s reduce this effect as well. :flag:

Is the Jackshaft bearing good still? Don't assume. Inspect it. Is Parking brake adjusted correctly? Somthing wedged in the tunnel? Ice build up? Is belt coming back up to the top of the secondary? When was the last time you changed secondary spring? Is the belt in Spec? Have you checked deflection or CTC? If you start swapping parts, I suggest doing one at a time. Good Luck.

Your chain could be too tight?

Your track could be too tight?

Your emergency brake could be adjusted too tight?

Your clutches could be grossly out of alignment?

Your lower chain case bearing could be TU?

Good luck

This is exactly what you are feeling ... the clutch kit will lessen effects of engine braking .. also turning the idle up a bit will get rid of some of it too

clips

I had this problem and found out there were no track clips left in the track, and the track was to tight.

The stock clutching on my 05 had alot of burning belt smell as well.Much improved with aftermarket clutching.I however do like the engine braking ive idled my sled down to 1100 rpms to bring it back some.

Sorry everyone the problem that i am having is on the clutched sled. Track is fine new bearings on lh axle and lh jackshaft. I will check out some of the other ideas. THANKS
