I found a 2003 RX-1 that blew a ROD. for a pretty good price, just wondering how much it would be to fix it,or is it even worth it.He wants $2000 for it and it does have some extra's,new ripsaw, team secondary, and a thundershift clutch kit.Any help would be greatly appreciative. Thanks

Welcome to the site! Look around, you may be able to find someone needing to get rid of one. ya can find running ones for 25 to 3 grand these days.

If you look quick, there's an engine on ebay w/3200 miles on it.

I never did master micro links.

20 hours as of now left.

No way. Saw one around 3500, mint shape, with a Boivin suspension. It runs too.

Thanks for the reply's guys..I guess i will just look for something else.I just figure's it might be a cheap way to go 4stroke.

A "thrown rod" could have resulted in damage to the head/valve train, cylinder, base casting, crankshaft, piston plus all the labor to diassemble, inspect, measure, clean and rebuild. You could end up dropping over $2000 in new parts to get the sled running. You would be MUCH better off following the advice of previous posts and keep looking. A thrown connecting rod could mean that the sled was run very very hard/abused which means other areas of the sled will need careful inspaection/rebuilding.......more $$. Keep looking.

Well he sold it today for the $2000 he was asking for, soi'm glad i didn't get it.Now i will just save some more and get the attack that i want..Thanks again guys for all the help and saving me the headache...
