I looked at the XTX at the sled show, and there is definately going to be room for a Gas can or a tunnel bag EASILY. It will require an exhaust turn out, and a relocated taillight. So I'd go for a smaller LED taillight to mount on the back, and then there would be room to mount like a Doo Jerry can back there easily. I know Skinz is making a bag for the rear, so we do have HOPE!
The tunnell, sure looks nice on the XTX!

ben dare dun dat. have the mtx didnt have to move the tail lamp but, you'll get the idea. would have to if you wanted to run bag and gas tank like the doos.

this is all due to the exhaust out of the rear seat area. if it left out of the tunnel or elsewhere we could have a bag and can back there.

here is my thread with the doo can installed. yes, you have to use a turn out, and you have to make a spacer with the doo rubber snubbers to keep the can secured and off from the rear ceramic guard for the can. but it works great.

to make the spacer, i used a 100mm threaded screw same pitch as the retainer screws for the ceramic guard. then i sleeved the bolt with tubing (aluminum), to retain the snubber and make it look like a cleaner install.

this keeps the can off from the guard. i started with reflective chrome insulating tape over the front of the tanks, but extreme temps (cold, not hot) caused the tape to start peeling. the tape always had snow on it while riding, even under the exhuast turnout.

i later removed the tape and have had no problems, and the can still accumulates snow while in powder. the exhuast turnout is better placed for this application in a slightly turned up and out location.

also for no slippage for the can on the smooth tunnel, i used an arctic cat tunnel top rubber mat (p/n 2606-134 cost about 20 bux). protects the can from rubbing underneath and proctects the shiney new tunnels. ski

awesome, hard to tell from the side shots how much room there is, thanks for the awesome pic.

Hey Deadman where can I find this Skinz stuff? I tried googling skinz and this product does not show up! I ordered the XTX & would love to be able to put a tunnel bag on the back there instead of on top of the exhast.

There also was enough room in front of the seat, if YAMAHA would have used it to put the right size tank on!!!

From Cris reid´s Yamablog

"For example the new Nytro XT-X will have some nice customizing options. It appears an accessory, 1.75in track is in the works and our gas caddy system is improved to work with the new tunnel. I have seen samples of some other very cool new accessories Tom and Terry are working on which will add both function and ‘bling’ to your ride."

Yellowknife; Good to see you on here!
I still have my 500SS, but I have a FX Nytro XTX on order. Should be here in fall of course, and then the Rev is for sale! :) I'll be so glad to be out of the "Blue Smoke Brigade"!
You buying a new sled soon? if so, what?
Later Buddy!

Don't plan on buying an 09 but I always say that and then it ends up happening anyway.

The Nytro's are a great machine...big step up from BRP's motor's and the platform is a class of its own.
