Hey guys has anyone tried both clutch kits? I have a 13 nytro with a ulmer clutch kit maybe it's the conditions but I'm not sure I really like the way it pulls. I am hearing good things about the schmidt.
I had a 09 fx Nytro with a mbrp header bender clutch kit and intake and I would eat my buddies ski doo 600rs up.
Now I have a 13 xtx with Ulmers clutch kit, k&n, full excell exhaust, performance plugs, and pc. I barely get by him now and I'm studded alot better than the previous sled.
It just doesn't seem to pull as hard as my last sled with the Nytro that should of been less hp
if anyone has tried both It would be great to here your input

What is your sled revving to?

Last year i had pretty much the same mods as you, minus the plugs with ulmer clutching, and i could beat my brothers nytro with smicht brothers clutch, header, some intake thing and the plugs.

My sled last year would destroy 600s, the 144 is also alot more track to be spinning, and arent the xtx geared lower too?

Does your brother have the stage 1,2 or 3 from schmidt?
I am not sure what the gearing is because all I can find for my year is info on the bc track I have the 1.25
Also I was told the xtx should be better just cause it's more track more traction but I'm not sure.
Do u know what your hitting for rpms on yours?. I didn't really pay attention thr other day cause all. We were doing was literally racing back and forth in a field. I will try and check next time I'm Out. Does anyone else have a hard time watching that little digital tach on the Nytro at 90mph lol

Hey he has at least stage 2. Has weights. Springs helix and rollers.

I was just over 9000 rpms on mine. I believe Ulmer told me to be at 9000-9200. Maybe in loose snow the big track would help off the line , but after that I think it would be slower.

But it's definitely not easy to see the tach, wish it had a big analog one. Much better for tuning.

Ok thanks. Ya i contacted ulmer a couple days ago about my rpms I haven't heard back yet but ik this is his busy time.

I can't comment on the ulcer kit but I put the Schmidt bros stage 2 on last year and it pulls crazy hard. And I'm still 200 rpms lite on top end.

Also even stock my 121 would walk all the xtx Nytros.

Hmm. I wonder why everyone claimed the xtx would put a hurting on a stock short track when I was looking

Guessing everyone else was thinking about traction out of the hole?

While I can't compare to the Ulmer kit, I currently run the SB stage 2 kit and have run the Drag n Flys with Turks black spring set up. SB kit has nicer low speed drivability, low engagement make it nice to load on the ramp and put around. The DnF's pulled way harder imo....SB kit just doesn't have the mid range pull that the DnFs did. Ulmer kit is supposed to be really good, I'd like to give it a try but don't really need to spend any more cash on my sled for probably minimal gains. IMO going to the SB kit wouldn't gain you that much more. I know the XTX has more track and should hook better, but it's also heavier than the shorty you had prior...more weight will slow you down a tad. Also, you old combo and current combo would be pretty close HP wise...you're only taking a few HP..2-3 which is negligible. It's possible that your old sled just had a stronger motor
