I got the specs for one shock from the sticky above which shock is that for. Also does anyone have some specs for the other shock that work well? I am going to have a local guy who did some work before for me. I am going to try the settings from above, but he didnt include any settings for the second shock as he had it done by Carver. I am hoping to get this done by this weekend, because OH YAH we got some snow Dec 15th the trails open I want to try this thing out.

07 RTX APEX

Your signature shows you are running an SC10 III? Thinking Rex's notes refer to that shock/valving as used with the Yammi skid. The geometry of the Yammi skid is a lot different from the Doo skid. Thinking the valve stack he recommends would not be a good idea to run on yours for that reason. Maybe it would be a good idea if you were to talk with your shock guy regarding what you are looking for/what your skid is doing, and go from there? Using Rex's stack may leave you worse off than you are now - or add to the confusion if that's the case?

I had to soften the ProX shocks, as well as increase the rebound in the rear due to the stiffer torsion springs. FWIW

Nice catch ahicks. ;)!

No shock guru here, so just throwing out ideas, OK?
You don't mention any specifics, so wondering if you're about the same size as Rex? Ride as hard? Same beefed up torsion springs? If so you have an idea of what to do in back. Regarding the front skid shock, I remember mine could have used a little less high speed, but I'm not sure I would mess with it until after riding it with Rex's mods? As far as coming up with an entirely new progressive stack for the front, your shock guy may have some suggestions after seeing what's there now? Maybe just a well placed/sized shim? FWIW

I am 285 without gear I ride very hard but within reason I dont jump my sled I am just lookng for something that on the way back to the truck can handle the bumps from people riding and beating the trails. I dont plan on riding of trail I just hate having the crap kicked out of me by rough trails. I have read about the weaknesses of the RTX in those sorts of conditions. It sounds like Rex found a great combination and adjusted for my weight it might help alot. Hopefully if I can get the front shock adjusted a bit it would be perfect. I dont know about the springs as it seems very stiff just sitting on it I did not buy it new. I suspect the former owner may have put the heavy springs in already. How can I tell? I sat on another one and it seemed like it was much softer.

Who is that guy in your avitar who is not jumping your sled? LOL

The Yammi HD springs actually ride lower than the stockers, haven't known anyone to be using them. There was nothing else available anywhere at the time. I'm you're weight, ended up going with a set of "X-Click" 4 sided overload torsion spring cams to get it to hold me up right. Rex had his springs re arced (bent). Either way, we both went for more preload. The nuts used for transfer/coupling adjustment or front skid spring preload may have something to do with the differences you felt between the sleds, or maybe the other has a Mono susp? Sled is going to need to start out pretty stiff. By time it gets some snow and ice built up under it there could be quite a bit more weight on the rear springs. I used a sag dimension that left the top of the rear bumper about 19.5" off the ground to give you an idea. I might ride a little rougher than you describe, but your description close otherwise. -Al

Blue Dave that was me on my RX! I would never jump my brand new sled LOL ;)! OK so a jump or two for the camera, but nothing I would do everyday or ditchbang I just want to get a decent ride on a rough trail. I was looing into the 4 position clicker I think with my weight it would benefit me for sure. Where did you get yours?

X-Clicks available through Shadetree, SLP, and High Performance Engineering. 40. or so

I did see a similar product at a popular auction site too. A little less money, and available in your favorite color....

No connection personally whatsoever - with any of it!

Rex did not give the calibrations of the other shock because he did not want to give away carvers secrets. I think that he mentions that somewhere in that thread.
