- 2007 Yamaha Apex
Hi all. I recently bought a pre-owned Apex with 1,475 miles. My first sled.
It looks like show room condition and i don't believe its been modified. My question arises because i realize that the 2007 Apex came with Fox shocks without coil springs. Mine has coil shocks with cylinder reservoirs. I don't see any brand names on them and they are black. Does anyone know why these wouldn't have the stock shocks? Was there an optional shock upgrade that year? I know it's a 2007 because the decals are 2007 and the VIN matches a 2007. I appreciate any feedback.
Btw- we had a brief 6 inches of snow last week and i took it for a spin. This thing is frightening fast!!!

Dont think there was a option that year. I have a 07 rtx and yes it should have the fox floats on it. I think it has been changed to what you see on your sled now. A pic of whats on it at this time would help. Sounds like they could be from a Apex attack....

Just sayin'
Sounds like you have GYTRs up front.

Yeah. They look like GYTR but there's no decal or anything. I will have to look closer. Is the GYTR a better shock?
Thanks
Thanks

I would be glad to trade you a set of stock air Shocks off of my RTX.

Yeah. They look similar. Im not home but i will look at the stampings on them. Im curious what make they are. So it sounds from the consensus that most like the coil over with reservoir shocks. I guess they stock Fox shocks were switched out.

I am not a fan of Fox shocks. I tried a set on my RX1 and switched to the GYTR shocks and like them much better

Hi Guys. So i finally looked at the shocks tonight to figure out the brand. I didn't take a photo because all there is for markings is a warning sticker regarding potential nitrogen explosions. "Comp" was also engraved on a small black adjustment wheel on the reservoir as well.
So are these definitely aftermarket and good quality?
