Ok this is my first post at TY4

I´m intressted in how to make the tunnel on -08 and -09 mtx look much cooler. I´m not a fan of the big chunky looking tunnel on the 08 09 sleds. I´ve seen some really nice looking tunnelmods when searching here but lets round them up in one thread.

pics and info on what´s been done would be much appreciated

Maybe "Functional" would be a better term, than "cool". 08-09 Tunnels didn't "function" very well in deep snow. 2010 and up did a better job.

I took off the trim and trimed the outside edge of the board @ 1/2-3/4"
and cut the rear out to allow for clean out

I did this to mine, made my own "skinz" rear bumper and trimmed the stock chassis after the new part. my bumper is laser cut out of 3mm s355 steel so i can use it for towing.
I think it also looks great compared to thestock 2009 chassis

Great! Kepp em coming ;)!

And yes functional is a better term..... :o|

Are you getting in trouble if you cut of the drop brakets cut the tunnel and then relocate longer brakets? What I can see the drp brakets on 08 09 is limiting the possebility to cut the tunnel earlyer from the fotwell ( if anyone understands what I´m trying to say ; )

One more picture on my tunnel mod.
if you look closely on the picture you can see the stock tunnel line right above the drop bracket.
im planning to make some new drop brackets that is smaller than the stock ones.
think the stock brackets was some leftovers from a battle tank!

really nice, Im debating on what sled to get for next year.. Beeing able to tow is vital and thats where the nytro has the advantage but all bumpers with towhooks look kinda bad when you run airfraimes and skinz seat so your bumper would weigh in on the + side for getting a nytro!

I was thinking of doing the same those things have to weigh 10ibs

Twostroke. Should you be able to unbolt the skinz airframes and the oem dropbrakets. Them mount the boards a little higher on the tunnel and get custom dropbrakets, then cut the tunnel just under the boards?
On the post 2010 tunnels it seems that the boards are runnimg a couple of inches higher than the 08-09 tunnel, that´s pretty much cutting ......

whitewheels: if you make new drop brackets it should not be a problem to put the airframes higher. you have to cut the tunnel anyway.

yzviper366: it is about 3,3kg

Carbon Fiber, under tunnel exhaust, hearexchangers for radiator delete, polaris rear bar.
