I replaced my outer carbide only to find the ski has worn away under the old set. Happened fast .... the skies only have about 2K on them and I had 4" Simmons carbides on the outside and Bergstrom triples on the inside.

I did use the Bergstrom shims although I think they just crushed my rubber ski bumper more than anything.

Not sure if there is a repair or if I’m going back to the stock skies. Unless I can find something I did wrong I’m not dropping another $300+ on Simmons.

I don't know what your riding area was like last year, but due to the low snow conditions here, my skis suffered a great deal too.

I've put on a set of ski savers this year. Hopefully they'll reduce wear on the skis and maybe even improve handling as well.

Looks like you had a lot of forward Ski pressure I have 10,000 miles on mine and they don't look anything close to that I do have ski shim's installed since day one helps with steering and lifts the front just slightly could be why mine have lasted so long. How did the old carbides look when you took them off?

mikeb, Got a phone call Sarturday afternoon about your ski wear issue. Contact Scott Bergstrom by phone or email. Says he has a product to repair them that he will GIVE you. Yes I said GIVE, free of charge. Another reason I love doing business with this man ;)!
