I am going to get a skid plate for my Phazer but Im not sure which one to go with.
I want protection over anything else. I like the looks of the Skinz plate but Im not sure if its more for flotation than protection. I will be riding trails.
Anyone compare the two? Is the yamaha ultra plate much thicker?

I never compared. worked a deal when I bought my sled that the dealer throw on the yamaha one.
Its a nice plate. not sure if it helps with flotation much. maybe a little. Snow still builds up in the front bumper. I'm sure it deflects some sticks and such fron getting up in there.

Buy the Skinz one.
I've got a Skinz on my sled and my brother has a Yamaha one. The Skinz covers more under the sled and is spaced out a little so that when you hit something it flexes without touching the sled pan.
Thickness is about the same.
There is a large flotation increase too with Skinz. Plus it's cheaper and in my opinion looks better.
