I have a 06 Apex ER with 4000 miles on it. I bought it last spring. I had it out for a ride last weekend for about 65 miles. The clutch are clean and the bushings are all good. When I am running, lets say 50 mph and hit the gas, The RPM jump to 10,000 -10,200 and climb to 10,700. There is a lack of hard pull for 2 seconds when I first hit the gas. Is this normal? I think it has the orginal springs in the clutches. I was thinking about ordering a clutch kit from Ulmer but at $390.00 sound like alot. What can I do? I can beat my buddy with a 04 Polaris 800 but just. He thinks he can keep up becuase of that lack of hard pull I have for that 2 to 3 seconds when I hit the gas. It take me to 95 MPH to pull a way from him. Can I just buy some new springs to fix this problem. If so, What ones. Thank you

Hows your belt look, a new belt might give you more. Could be springs though. Big motor spinning that clutch for those 4000 miles and you don't know how the other guy rode it....little confused on what you said though....lack of hard pull for a couple of seconds, does the motor rev fine just not getting the transfer???...r u getting a bog like the clutches are bringing the motor down....or just a hesitation.

Check your parts, see if they're stock. If you didn't buy new, someone might have put in a kit or was just messing around with settings.
If your gonna buy a kit you can't go wrong with Ulmers stuff. It just works

Your rpm,s are dead bang on. Thats exactly where you want to be. It feels like your not moving but line up against something else & watch him fade away. Your clutching sounds bang on. What feels slow is in most cases very very fast. Anything that feels explosive is generally slower.
