Anyone ever seen trail maps for Smartphones?
Just got my first smart phone and the Google Mapping and Nav software is amazing. Just wondering if there were such a thing as trail maps. I've found myself confused and map-less now and then when I get outside my usual zones.
The phone is a Droid.

Yes it looks good, it is slightly off but nothing major. This may come in handy if out riding 2 tracks. I just hope we can get cell service sonit will actually be usable?!

There is an option that might help the Polaris app work better when you have no signal, but I have tried it yet.
On your phone, you can cache sections of a map under the Google Maps app so that they load quicker by GPS when you aren't in range of a cell tower. Normally your phone will try to load google maps using internet first, then go to your GPS.
It appears that the Polaris app utilizes Google Maps, but I'm not sure if it has all that information or if it pulls from the Google app. If it pulls, the cache option should make it useful when you don't have a signal.
