first off I gotta say I am really loving my new ltx le with the 180 kit. Knock on wood , I think I got it tuned right the way I want it.

we all know snow conditions are everything when it comes to handling and performance, but this sled seems to take it to a new level.
We had a foot of heavy fresh snow down yesterday when we left the truck. Lots of traffic on the trail but still lots of snow, I could not get the sled to rev over 8100 even on the longest stretch ( 95 mph ).

As the evening went on the temps dropped and the trail hardened and setup a bit. Wow. All of a sudden I could hit 8800 hundred and 115 mph almost anywhere.

Not really complaining but is this common for a viper to get this much affect from heavy snow.

Thanks ty folks. I hope everyone is making the best of this winter.

Had an odd weekend last week where we went to a place we have gone before. This day it was warm and getting ready to snow and very wet in the air. Both our turbos I stopped and inspected even changed the belts as something seemed VERY wrong. Did nothing and went out yesterday and all is well......weather conditions can really throw you for a loop.

This chasis eats power. What you give up for great handling and huge travel. Especially the slide action in the LTX. First year natually aspirated I could go from a top speed of 80 on soft snow to 95 mph on cold stiff morning. Now with 190 Hurricane kit i'm at 100 in soft stuff and 110mph on a good crisp trail. But I'm a big guy. And don't want to ride a SRX just for top end.

Oo ya. I had this exact same thing one day last week. It was +3 c. Sled had no pull.

Joe, I am guessing this has been my problem all along. We usually have penty of snow and low REV's tend to be a problem. I don't think I have ever had a chance to run the sled on Hard Hard pack. Maybe if and when I do I will see the speeds I was expecting. Little disappointed though if it needs to be rock hard to reap the full benefits of the power of the sled. Stock Doo 800's are going to pose a bit of a problem if that's the case.....I am away at work now but when I get home I am going to install the OSP adjuster, make sure the AFR is right, and I guess I will have to put up with what I get and enjoy the sled for what it is.

Yes normal depend on snow and atmospherique pressure ( bigger difference for turbo than N/A)
Thats why i am thinking of EVO reflash and rev Limiter,(starting, iddle .......etc. )

I would like to set the clutch for 9500rmp in good condition and still be able to run 8800-9000 in bad condition......

This chassis is very responsive on different type terrain and not easy to tune ,probably because the rev-limiter....

My opinion.

when i was getting full revs it was not hard packed, lots of powder. the difference was temperature. i think you have a combination of clutching and condiotions.

done get to frustrated. get some more seat time
