Guys, I would love to try these on my RX-1. They look like a great product but, with the heat exchanger under them, I'm not sure how well they would work.

This innovative (Patent Pending) running board add-on provides plenty of space for snow and ice to fall through, while providing exceptional boot traction too. The Snow Eliminator also acts as a "Frame Doubler" to help strengthen a weak area on some snowmobile models. Once you ride with them you will never want to ride without them. Sold per pair.

Note: Does not fit short track models.

What do you think?

I ordered a set a week or so ago as i am not going to change my tunnel til after this season.I spoke directly to the owner, who assured me they will work and I plan on cutting the coolers slightly where the openings are.I will update on how this goes next week along with pics.I think it will be a big improvement over the stock running boards.

Snow Eliminators on RX-1

I put a set of these on an Apex which has the same running board exchangers ;)! . I used a dremmel tool to cut the running board holes. I left the exchangers in place and just went very carefully over the top of them with a cutting wheel. It worked pretty well. I had excellent traction and the exchanger helped keep the snow and ice from building up to bad. It took a little time but not that bad. I am planning on putting a set on a RX-1, soon. I have purchased one to do a "Kachess" project with. If nothing else, just cut holes out beyond the exchanger. Any little bit will help.

I have them on my RX. they do work well for traction. Way better than the stock boards.
If you do not open up some of the windows they will collect LOTS of snow. I cut mine open the best I could while leaving the heat exchangers in.

Soon as I come up with a tunnel cooler and get rid of the heat exchangers I will finish opening the windows

Well, it sounds like there may actually be an aftermarket mod thats' worth the money! :jump:

Does anyone have any pictures of what they look like on a RX-1?

Thanks for the pictures Sobfrogg and i don't mean to be tough on you but, isn't the idea to cut out as much of the material beneath the cutouts in the snow eliminators as possible?

Besides the added traction, I thought the whole idea behind the product is to give the snow that builds up on the running boards somewhere to go.

Am I missing something here?

I was a little puzzled with that as well.My intentions(and the ones I saw at the snowshow this weekend) are to remove the existing running boards with the exception of the rolled edge and mount the coolers, then cut into the cooler support where the holes are, maximizing the effect of the open running board.I tried some similar for traction only, they still pack up with snow.Ideas ???

Frosty, you are correct. Part of the idea is to give the snow a place to go. The pics I posted were from last season when I put them on. Since then I have opened the windows the best I could. I do belive I posted earlier about this and my end goal is to fit a tunnel cooler so I can get rid of the floor board heat exchangers all together and open the windows all the way

Thanks, so do you have a picture with the maximum amount of material removed below the snow eliminators?

I'd sure like to see how open the holes can be made while running the stock heat exchangers.

Thanks again

Frosty

I do not have one yet thats why I used the old pics. I will try and get over to the trailer this weekend and take a few.

You would not know where I might be able to come up with a tunnel coller would you???

Snow Eliminators on RX-1

Here is a pic of the Snow Eliminators that I installed on my Apex. I hope to get some to install on my RX1. I cut out the running board to expose the heat exchanger. Seemed to work fairly well. The exchanger held some snow but the heat seemed to keep it from sticking and it didn't build up to bad. Hope it gives you an idea.
