Some Pics from the scouting trip to Stanley

You should come join us for the ride in Feb. Then you can see it first hand.

Spray I am jealous! I am a "flatlander" who now wishes he could be a Mountain Rider. Wonder if I could get the wife and kids to move out west...you know....for a change of pace...

First I have to deal with UNtrue Blue. Man stop sniffing glue it is starting to affect your judgement.

RXWonder,

You CAN be a mountain rider. Just load up the wife and kids and come joind us. It's a whole diferrent experience riding in the mountains. In my opinion it sure beats cruising down the trail.

Wish I could...but....Yeah....not that easy. Mountain and Trail are 2 different animals..they are as different as 2-Strokes vs. 4-Strokes..

I have to stand up for us flatlanders....Don't dismiss trail riding as being boring. I know you guys do some trail riding but your machines are not really set up for that..kind of like driving a 4X4 around an F1 track..  ...We do 4-5 day loops of 1000 miles or so. See alot of great sights and ride from town to town. The nightlife in each town is great and we eat and drink like kings. I equate it to a cross between a dirtbike and a roadbike combined.

The speed/cornering of a fast streetbike and the suspension and trailability of a dirtbike. Where we ride, is QUITE different than most places. We are lucky if we see 10 sleds per day. Long smooth flat and sometimes hilly wide trails in the middle of nowhere. Lots of jumps too....ever launch a 675 Lb sled in the air while doing 75MPH (ground speed...NOT track speed)? Really gets the adrenaline going when you come down.

I have a really good buddy who rides a 2003 Limited (Silver...SLOW  ) RX1 in Revelstoke, BC all the time and he kinda explained a bit to me what they do. He told me that once they get to the spot they all sit around at the botom of a mountain and watch each other highmark. Sounded boring to me but I am sure it's a hoot!

Rxwonder sitting at the bottom of a hill and watching each other highmark is what alot of guys do. Since I've had my RX-1 I just go over the top and onto the next bowl :D :D ! Truthfully there are alot of mountain riders that do that. It's usually the guys with the big bad sleds that want to show off. But then there is the rest of us that boondock through the trees and ride from ridge to ridge climbing some wicked hills, stopping occasionally to embarass the two strokes trying to highmark. You should come out and try it!

I couldn't have said it better.
