Where the heck do some people get the idea it is illegal to ride the trails on Tug Hill until the hunting season is over. These trails we were riding are open year round for snowmobiling. If it snows in July, then I will be riding Tug Hill then. These old logging roads are open to trucks, cars, 4x4's. ATV's, dirt bikes, motorcycles, and yes SNOWMOBILES, year round. Granted, many snowmobile trails are closed accross New York State until after hunting season, and some trails on Tug Hill are also closed, but many are open year round. However they will not start grooming these trails until after Hunting season ends. Do you avoid going accross lakes in the middle of Winter, because fishing season is open, and someone may be ice fishing? We spent 15 minutes talking to 2 conservation officers yesterday while we were on the trails. I am quit sure after they checked our registrations, that if we were not suppose to be riding they would have told us. :o| :4STroke:

I am glad you posted this I will get my vector on the trailer. is there still snow up there after todats warm weather?

I totally agree, I have riden tug hill for 10 years in late nov and early dec. It is awesome putting miles on this early. Is there still a web cam at flatrock.

Tried to ride today in my field ...

Yuck! Ground is not frozen and I made one hell of a mess. Glad its my own place!

Cleaned the warrior up and put it back in trailer. Just hope we dont have to wait until late Jan like last year.

You may want to check with the local snowmobile clubs. We all know snowmobiles and ATV's are not considered motor vehicles and are not treated the same. I know being a ATV club member on the hill the trails (almost all except one area that is marked) are closed to ATV during hunting season and snowmobile season. This is due to insurance, ATV's are not covered during this time period. I have heard snowmobiles are the same way, the towns will not allow the riders to ride because of the insurance. I know down here in Oneida county that the will ticket you for riding 46 corners because of that reason. I would check with a club up there.

Hey Gordon, can't wait until Feb. to ride with you guys again. Now do you weat an orange suit when you ride?
