The FIII Vmax 4 that Tim Bender and Mike Sackett drove were full sponsored factory sleds. Both sleds were based off the 92 Vmax 4. Both had 4 cylinder engines and that is what they ran the entire season. After winning nearly all but a few races for the entire season, Yamaha decided to not pay their dues to I think ISR or whatever sactioning body decided teh rules for engine size. Not paying their dues meant they did not have a vote, and the other three manufacturers voted to rule out 4 cylinder engines. Tim Bender then removed one cylinder and redid the crank and make the 4 cyinder motor into a 3 cylinder which was a 600 then. The problem was Yamaha in 1993 pulled out of racing all together and Tim did not have a sponsorship from Yamaha. So, the FIII #19 was sold along with the #91 to a racer in Alaska. The 600 version #19 was raced a season or two until it was basically mothballed and the #91 was converted to a hillcross sled. The #19 is now again a 4 cylinder along witht he #91 in the process of being restored back to a FIII ice racer. Stay tuned for more progress reports on the #91. The #19 will be inducted into the Snowmobile Hall of Fame hopefully this fall once the floor is installed this summer.

Also, if any of you have not seen the 2008 Anniversary Edition of the Apex in the 40th Decal scheme I will have one on display at the Booth. Literature will be available to give out on the 2008's.
