Years back, I order some Viper shock/springs for my SRX off of eBay. What showed up were clearly not from a SX Viper parts. I strongly suspect they were from an 03 or 04 RX-1, but see no numbers.
I've heard these might be a good fit for my current Doo, but if it ends up too heavy or too light, I'd like to know which way to go with it, so I need to know my starting point.
I see Ronnie's lists 3 different spring rates for the RX-1. What one was standard?
8FA-23760-00-00?
That one has the -00-, do I would suspect it would be the default one, but it is also the heavy one. It strikes me as odd that they'd make 2 lighter than standard and none heavier. The -20- is the lightest. were the higher number ones for the later and lighter RS?

I'd call a good parts salesperson like Kevin at Port Yamaha for answers.

bugging salesmen or other professionals when there is zero chance of me buying anything is about the last thing I want to do.

The 03 RX-1's came with a multi-rate (1.9-3.0 kg) spring on them stock - the 3 springs you see listed on the microfiche were sold as alternative springs to the stock ones. Those alternate springs were all straight single rate springs. In 2004 Yamaha went to using the straight rate 1.9 kg spring stock on the front of the RX-1's along with using a different swaybar/link combination. It was very popular back then to update the 03's to the 04 specs.

The 05 Warrior came with 2.1 straight rate springs if I remember right. I upgraded to 2.3 straight rate and a 12mm sway bar. I would think the 1.9's would be to soft but if the Doo has a two stroke up front the 1.9's might be just right.

Yep your right your 05 RX Warrior used the 2.1 springs stock - to clarify the 04-05 RX-1 (121" track) had 1.9 kg straight rate springs and the 04-05 RX Warrior (136" track) models used the 2.1 kg straight rate springs stock.
