Sorry to read about your loss.

But... Why didn't you have insurance on it? :o| :o| :o|

Here in Michigan you can add a trailer to your auto policy-- cheap. My trailer with a cost new of $4200 is covered for fire, theft, collision, etc with a $100 ded. The cost... only $35.00 every 6 months.

being that it was stolen from your house, you homeowners may cover it......

and if it was hooked up to your truck when it was stolen, it may be covered under your auto policy....

check into those before you give up your season.

trailer

My friend had a new Triton trailer stolen, homeowners ins. covered the trailer, not the accessories he had added to it though. Now he has so many locks on the new one, it'll take him a 1/2 hour to unlock it!

grumpysanta, have you posted this on HCS in the quebec and ontario forums??

tks

I am working on listing on a bunch of sites. bikers ans sledders . they are expensive enough toys that we don't need people ripping us off. no one rides for free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck finding your trailer. I hate thieves more than anything.

For future security devices consider using what I have. I have a "keyed alike" Trailer Lock Set from MasterLock for each of my trailers. These come with the trailer coupler lock a pin lock for the coupler latch on the trailer and a pin lock for the reciever on the tow vehicles. I have never even seen a hint of of a thief tampering with my trailers. My locks look just like the three pictures in the attachment below.

That coupler lock (right side of the three pictures) weighs about 5 lbs by itself and has a ratcheting slide that clamps the ball in place even if the latch on the trailer is released.

They sell for $39.97 here; http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=288198
