Hello all,
I am having trouble sourcing that SB template in Ontario if anyone has any suggestions.I just picked up a non current 2017 Sidewinder RTX SE and I am trying to decide on some traction products and possibly some new skis . Quite concerned about loosing EPS ; any complete set up for a moderate to aggressive trail rider with light steering and high speed precision would be much appreciated. Asking too much ?
thanking in advance,

Love my template...I got it direct from Stud Boy to my home in NY....Just studded mine and I have always liked this pattern.
Did you call them direct?

I did Dan. They told me to contact " Gamma" or " Kimpex" up here. When I did, they said that they only dealt with dealers and Royal Distributing. Kimpex told me that the template was a very new product( Dec, 2017), and that there was not much demand for it up here in Canada yet. The Woody's template has very limited pattern's for the 2.86 pitch,(129") 2-ply ; not impressed with it. Off topic, I have read all of your threads I believe ...and your technical ability and understanding is very impressive. But what is incredible, is your willingness to help people spending your time posting all your tips, procedures, and recommendations. Amazing Dan. Thank YouLove my template...I got it direct from Stud Boy to my home in NY....Just studded mine and I have always liked this pattern.

I am a little north east of Oshawa Dan. I never thought to ask " Mark" at Stud Boy if they would ship one.(duh)!! I should call and inquire. If Huntsville was a bit closer, I would come just to see that machine of yours man.... what a beauty! I would like to get that template and use the 4-2-4 pattern but possibly using the stud boy .75 pro-lite doubles and single backers with Woody's 1.45's . I had real good luck with that set up on my Apex; I think they give good stud support and helped that heavy sled hook up a bit better in snow. Any thoughts on that?Al...thank you brother!

Some love them with good results, others not so much.I am a little north east of Oshawa Dan. I never thought to ask " Mark" at Stud Boy if they would ship one.(duh)!! I should call and inquire. I only will use FasTrac polymere backers if I want ultra light setup. But on this machine I went with all woodys gold diggers and woodys standard alum round backers, and then their square double alum backers.
Honestly I wanted to try the grand studs and plates, which have the massive heads and backers for the single ply tracks, but I did not. I really think that setup on a 2 ply is the ultimate long lasting setup, and would be least likely to ever pull thru. Obviously more weight though.

Dan, I will be calling SB tomorrow morning to see if they will ship U.S post. I am now re-thinking the pro-lite backers.... stilll debating Pilots( 5.7 vs 6.9), or Curves which was what I had origionally decided... not sure which wind shield, ( sport mid or mid height).... I am a mess, haha. I should have started this process two moths ago. One thing I know for sure, I will be riding in 30 minutes straight from my house which is just north of Bowmanville, Ontario, ( no trailering), which is a big treat for me. I was not able to do that for the last two years; hope the whole winter is like that. Thanks again fellas...

If it helps on the pilots. All my friends with skidoos rode them and now all have C&a skis on them. Said it didn’t turn as well (consistent) as his procross with c&as on it or the other 850 in the group that had C&a skis on them. Curves will be little less aggressive but I still think all are better option than pilots. Maybe I’m biased and don’t wanna give skidoo any credit or income lol
