New 2007 Apex GT sits 2 inches higher than the 06 GT and has much greater rear end travel when you depress the rear end with your knee on the rear bumper. The problem is that my wife will be riding this sled and she only weighs around 145 in full gear.
I Noticed different numbers stamped on the olins springs.
Searched the Yami parts manual and noticed they list only the complete shock assembly and the 07 is a dfferent part number than the 06 but does not show breakdown for the spring itself, any ideas or information on this subject would be appreciated.

I would think that since the 07 is new and the spring is not broken in on it yet it may cause the sled to sit higher in the rear. Once the 07 gets some miles on it I bet it sits real close in height to the 06 as long as neither has had any adjustments made to the rear suspension. As far as part numbers go those two sleds should have the same part number on the rear shocks. I took a look at both our website's microfiche and Yamaha's and they both show the 06 and 07 using the same part number (8GD-47480-00-00). The valving and spring combination (4.9KG) were the same between the 06 and 07 Apex GT shocks also so expect the ride to be very similar once the spring/shock is broken in.

The sled was purcahased with 960 miles on it, and I certaainly will have to adjust the sleds sit in as my wife is 145 lbs. in full gear.
the part of the equasion is that the numbers on rhe springs themselves are not the same
Thanks for you response Kevin

Here's how to tell if maybe the previous owner changed the spring - when you look at the numbers on the springs look for the number 696 and then the next two numbers after it. Those two numbers determine the rate of the spring - for reference a stock spring for a 06/07 apex gt would be 696-08. The rest of the numbers/letters on the shock are just production numbers and vary on every spring even if they are the same calibration.
