Looking to buy a phazer for the kids and wife (ok, I may ride it a little) and was wondering how the mountain suspension compares on the trail to the straight phazer or the gt version.

Will it ride pretty good, or is it going to be too rough of a ride. I like the extra length, an may cut the track down to let the slides live, but don't want it to ride like a lumber wagon.

Thanks for replies.

If anyone knows where a good deal is on a new or slightly used 09 or 08 phazer is feel free to let me know.

i got an 07 phazer rocketship with tons of mods and custom paint only 1500 miles $6000 can ship to anywhere in the USA. hit me up if you are interested i have lots of pics and can list the mods

Thanks, but I am looking for something for less coin, and more stock.

Anyone ride both of these sleds to compare the ride.

Thanks,

If anything the Mtn. is much softer, at least mine is. The non-rebuildable shocks are a downfall, but, after a few years and 400 or so you can get a set of Fox's for the rear. I weight 250 and while it bottoms, it's not all bad, concidering what it is. The extra length makes it smoother in the bumps and the bar handle will be nice for the kids. Out of all of them the RTX will be the stiffest, then the GT followed by the Std. and MTN. Get a set of scratchers and you won't have to cut the track down at all. Over all I'm happy with the MTN. just wish it had rebuildable shocks all around.

how is the narrower stance? Is it stable, or will it be a lot more tippy. Don't want momma unhappy, and she has not ridden much at all.

Thanks,

Thanks,

The Phazer is my wifes sled, she really hadn't rode for about 8 years until the Phazer arrived. I too was a bit worried about the narrower stance, I did move the bushings around and widened it which must help. I personally don't notice it, however if your used to a sit-back style or a wide stable sled the Phazer will be different, not horribly unstable, just different, you will feel like your sitting a mile in the air at first, but after a few miles you adjust and it really is a blast to ride. She has never complained about it being tippy, and she'll typically cruise about 30-40 MPH in the trails. I'm not sure if it's the weight or the narrow tunnel or what but I just have fun bombing around on it. She uses it for trail riding and I use it for boondocken, it works.
