Hi guys, I'm pretty much a newbie and have jumped into snowmobiling with both feet by purchasing a new 2006 RS Venture. I haven't taken delivery yet and was wondering what I should check out on the sled before I take it out for it's first ride.

The owner's manual would be a good place to start.
I own two '05 Ventures & like them a lot with the exception of track howl. The rear handwarmers are pretty much useless without the gauntlets to put one's hands in to. Check out the Yamaha accessory catalog for them.
Also, check this out....

Right, I have already ordered the service manual from Yamaha. Basically, I just want to go over the sled to confirm that the prep was done properly and completely before I take it out.

I thought I read on this forum that Yamaha doesn't grease the sled before it leaves the factory. It is the responsibility of the dealer upon set-up. So make sure they grease the sled and put in a quality Yamaha snowmobile grease or low-temp grease like the one listed below and not just basic auto grease.
