Teather install

I rolled my phazer last year and broke the kill switch on the handlebar. I rode all season without it. I want to install a teather this year and eliminate the bar kill switch completely.

So my question is first is there any problems i am overlooking by doing this?

and is the kill switch open to kill or ground to kill?
