Is it worth the extra $$$ for the GT over the ER? Can the GT be adjusted for a soft ride like the ER? Or does it have to be sent off to be revalved like some of the posts suggest.
I have posted this question before and haven't gotten a straight answer.
I need to know before snow checking.
I can’t say enough good things about this site and all the GREAT posts
Thanks!!!!

Why would you buy a GT and revalve it softer?

The E/R will satisfy your needs quite nicely the GT just offers more adjustability at a price. Once broken in I believe the Ohlins will ride as soft as the E/R. If cost is not an option go with the GT, at this point nobody can tell you if the extra is a good investment as nothing is 100% dialed in yet.

I thought the GT was really soft..in soft mode. I really like the ease of adjustment and the amount of adjustability. Will I use it..probably not...but it's cool to have. If ease of adjustment is important to you then this is an easy choice. I really doubt that anyone will use the extreme ends of adjustment on either sled...so I really think it comes down to the level of adjustment you want it your sled.

Here is my thinking.. I ride in Vermont most weekends and like the Fact the GT has the piggybacks and Ohlins so I can crank them up for the Sat night mogul run home. On the other hand I spend at least two weeks up in northern Maine where you really don't need a lot of suspension. It's nice to softer her right up and enjoy on long 200 to 300 mile days....
Remember when we were just happy to ride ANYTHING…… LOL

Get the GT.
You only live once. It costs more....but the resale will be better too.
The difference in cost equals 1 snowmobile trip.
