I am thinking about buying a left over 08 phazer mtx, i have a srx600 now but my back can't take it anymore and i want reverse. So i want to stick with Yamaha and buy the new rider forward position. How to people find there sleds?

I will be using the sled as a trail breaker and a exploring off the beating path sled. I can't afford a new nytro at the moment.

thanks

ian

Fill in your location, site rules plus it will help answer questions like this, as the MTX is not a "Mountain Machine" at least not without a turbo. But at or near sea level on hill it does pretty good. For instance U.P. of MI, it's fun to tear around on.

depending on where u wanna ride and how much fresh snow u have are big factors. In the real mountains they struggle quite a bit. I have a 08 MTX and was able to get around in the mountains for the most part but i still need my buddys to break trail from time to time. Its not really a true mountain sled without modification. But if ur ok with buying and dealing with it till u can afford a turbo or s/c then go for it.

We have two here on the Avalon - really like them - could always use a bit more power but for the most part they will go anywhere here on the Avalon. The riding style takes a bit of getting used to - the more agressive the better.

I am to, at the sea level. And for me this machine is great.
But it got to weak engine when the mountains get to big.

I cant say that the MTX is a pure "Mountain Machine". Its more like a switchback for me. The machine works great for me in *normal* winter condition whit not so high mountains ;)!

My Phazer MTX was my door to the 4-stroke world, but i am going to get me a Nytro MTX next year :4STroke: ;)!

(Sorry for my bad english)

GOOD WITH TURBO , BUT A NITRO TURBO IS BETTER AGAIN !!!
