I have a 05 RX 1 with stock shocks. I am thinking about upgrading my front shocks.
I am looking for a better ride in the front end. I have had my shocks rebuilt twice but I am thinking there is a shock out there that will give me a better ride.
I don't push it that hard in the trails most of the time but i love to do it once in a while when I feel it is safe. I do love to drag race. I thought the air shocks would work for lowering the front end for drags.
What shock is working the best for every one. Is one of these two shocks easier/cheaper to rebuild or maintain?

acccording to a shock guy I just went to the other day, the GYTRs are more expensive to repair. The rebuilds are about the same, but if they get damaged parts like shafts and what not are harder to come by and more expensive than fox stuff.
not sure if there is any truth to it or not, just relaying what he said.

For the type of riding you're describing, Fox Floats would be a good choice. They're priced right and parts are readily available. A friend has them on his Apex XTX and they are a mojor improvement over the stock springers.
If you're looking for the ultra plush shock, the Assault rolling air spring shocks offered by Team Fast are better yet. I put them on my Vector 2 yrs ago, and I've never looked back.
