Hey guys just pulling my hair out trying to figure out why my sled (2015 STX-DX 141 uncoupled) went fastest while loaded up with spare gas, saddle bags and tunnel bag loaded with gear. Just before the trip I replaced all skid bearings and put on a set of duponts. Before this my top speed was 148km/h. While on this trip with what we figured was an extra 40 lbs on board I saw 153km/h. I was thinking it was the reduced rolling resistance, but at one of the lodges a Cat rider told me these skids are much faster when fully compressed. So the next morning I stipped it down and could only get 145km/h.

Any truth to this?
If so should I be lowering the air pressure in the rear skid shock so it runs flater?

Of course a sled lowered will run faster, essentially that's what you did with all the extra weight.

Weight does slow a sled down, but at the same time if your decreasing the attack angle, and possibly on better snow conditions to your last run, then I'd say that an increase in speed is acceptable.
