How do you bypass the TORS system on a 03 Rx 1.??

I hear there are many problems with the system on new vectors and RX 1

Unplug the wires at the motor and plug them back into themselves. They are at the valve cover on the right hand side of the motor. Two wires with bullet connectors.

Hello. Do this:
Disconnect the carburetor switch connectors and connect the wire together to bypass the t.o.r.s ;)!
Hope the pic`s can help you. Good luck!

Jensen.

That T.O.R.S. switch is a joke! I have seen several screw up including the one on my 03'. Do what the picture shows, then go to your local Artic-Cat dealer and buy a tether. (I use Artic-Crap ones as they are the best quality and they are wired the same as RX-1s (Normally Closed) Then if you have an issue with falling off or throttle sticking it shuts the motor down and slows the sled to a stop WAY faster. This should be standard on all machines (Manditory actually) It is very simple to install as well. As a bonus it is a bit of a theft device too.

tors

thanx guys

got it all figured out
ya I'm putting on a tether too, have too to race

This is by far the best site I have seen for advice and helpful hints. The manual is lame when it comes to working on a RX1, but this site makes up for it. I want to thank everyone on this site for being part of it.

So was it the TORS?

tors

no tors works fine

kinked hoses blocking flow

all works great, but still stalling after full throttle though.?

jetted down to 128.8 M, 17 P, droped needles still stalls.

put in 2 BOV too

wuts the cure.??

Devin, how much fuel pressure are you running? Do you just have the elec. pump or are you running both pumps? Is your flow level high or low? Did you check the needle and seats on all carbs for debris holding one open a little? Are the blow off valves working properly? Just some ideas to look at if you havn't already. :?

fuel

running 2.5lbs over boost for fuel pressure, big electric pump that came with kit, needles droped all the way, and there clean.

BOV's are working, the intercooler one blows off first and more I think.
I'm going to disconnect it and just try the big bad boy type H-RFL that in there by it's self.

it doesnt totaly stall out you just have to feather off the throttle a bit but keep it 1/8 open to flow for a few seconds after high boost.

still have it bit rich, waiting for 15 pilots, and 127.5 mains, going to turn up idle to 2000 rpm too.

I'm drag racing on sat in the 1000cc open mods, and open king class.
prolly up against some big 2 strokes with N02

I'll post some results on sun

Suck up those limiter straps and tight'n up those transfer rods(if you still got'm)! they go over backwards easy! How much boost you planning on running?

tors

prolly around 20lbs

o ya I'll suck em up tight

shooting for 330 hp. if I can hold it
