I run the stock track on my 06 Apex ER. I also run the track very loose. I go until it rachets and then bring it in a little until it stops. This past weekend it started ratcheting and I had to tighten it up a couple times. Quite a bit actually as the sag was at about 1.5". I tightened it down to under 1.25 but I am concerned about the tension on the front rails.

I have never checked it before so I do not know if it is normal, but there is an extreme amount of tension on the rails up front. I can barely pull the track down. This is with the rear of the sled completely suspended. Is this normal?

normal cause it make the bend there and pulls hardest in that area. I really dont get that much hifax wear there in spite of it.

normal....

I run my front end pretty low for ultimate cornering flatter....when lowered the angle of attack is very slight....so i get little wear in front...

this is why i dont beleive I need a wheel kit infront ever....

i run mine with approx 1 to 1-1/4 inch free sag with WARMED UP track...ofcourse cold track yeilds much less...Im sure i could go looser but i feel too loose yeilds ballooning and can slow you down ....happy medium is where i like it.

I try and run mine loose also, my wear seems to be in front of the rear scissor. My dealer says I still have 60% left on hifax, but they sure look done too me.

The thing about the front of the rails is that despite what it may seem to be when suspended, that is actually the part that runs the most LOOSE. This is because of its proximity to the DRIVERS, which tighten up the track ABOVE and push rubber HARD out towards the front of the rails. It'll usually balloon out quite a bit at the front of the rails.
