I know this was discussed before, Tork recommended bedliner and also there was a recommendation for the 3M clear protectant tape. Did a search (using Google) and could not find the discussion dedicated to this. Has anyone placed a product to protect the black paint on the tunnel from boot scratching? If so, how did it turn out?

For the foot area you could use some "Gravel Guard" vinyl with adhesive backing-just would need to cut out around all of the holes!

It's a textured, black vinyl, but not rough like sandpaper and is made for outdoor use.

I bought some from this place:

For the area below the seat you may want to use a clear film such as 3M protective film.

A good source for the 3M film is through Invisible Mask:

You can get the above items by the foot, don't need to buy a whole roll of the stuff.

I am in the same boat as you with my RTX there really is not anything that I have been told will work. My biggest fear is the running boards not the tunnel part.

If infact it does come with a painted tunnel I am going to protect the places where your boots may wear the paint away with 3M scotchguard paint protection film. Here is a site you can get it if you are interested. http://www.rockblocker.net/store/34583.htm

For those of us who do want to protect the side of the painted tunnel from boot marks, this seems to be one of the best options. ? other solutions (other than selling the sled)?
