Tried posting this in the Phazer section with no response, so thought I'd ask over here as well.

I installed an EZ-Ryde skid and relocating the front and rear arm mounts resulted in less track-to-tunnel clearance than I had with the stock skid. I knew that would be the case going into this project, but now have concerns about the potential for the track to balloon and cause damage to the tunnel and the track for that matter.

Would appreciate opinions as to whether you would recommend or discourage tunnel protectors. If I install them, I'll end up with even less track-to-tunnel clearance ... so much so that I could be rubbing on the tunnel protectors a lot. Not sure whether that's a good thing or not.

I also had a question about track tension at the rail caps and whether I should consider anti-stab wheels, which is why there's pic of the rails in the links below. Thanks in advance for your replies.

I'm running a EZ-Ryde in my 08 apex mtx not the same sled but still a open tunnel. I cut the protects out of it at new because of the ice they held. I have no iusses with it. You will be fine with out them.

Get a anti-stab kit I hooked a track once and its not good. The caps are good but can and do fall off. With the wheels you can run the track freere.

You could add two 2"w x 1/4"h strips of sheet matel in the tunnel over them rivets.

I was told by the guys that put my S.C. on you need the wheels cause the track will balloon between the rail where the snow is to the drive shaft..Like APEX 06 said..without the wheels the rail caps could catch and rip off..
