OK...so this 2-up thing is new to me...went small and light with the venture lite...thought maybe it'd be like my old phazer mountain??? well, no...but still a fun sled to ride after a life of performance sledding...wife gave up operating after our son was born, but wanted to still ride 2-up...so here we are...anyone relate???

My first thought was to go 2-up. We're novices.

My first mistake was not just laying down the cash on a Venture and being done with the decision.

My second mistake was making our first stop a demo ride. Found out that it's not a treat for the passenger to be swinging/swaying on the back.

Third mistake was convincing the GF to ask the Yami guys if she could take a sled around the parking lot to see if she'd feel safe and if she'd like to take one out on the demo ride, herself.

So much for gas savings going from one Genesis 120 to two of them.

But, while she's still really intimidated by sledding, she'll go and not get cold and at her pace (which isn't far from mine).

But on those demos, I really wanted a Venture and after riding on the Lite, it seemed to appeal more and more to me. Rider forward and comfy!

JohnWI, I feel your pain. For the past 25 years, I haven't been able to get just one of anything; snowmobiles, motorcycles, ATVs, helmets, jackets, boots, gloves, computers, etc. This trend ended last year when I got my Vector GT and my wife decided she likes her '99 Z370 just fine, although she wishes it had electric start. I try to get her interested in a Phazer GT but she thinks they're ugly and she doesn't like the weight or handling of my Vector (she's 120 lbs soaking wet). I'm hoping for a demo ride opportunity that might change her mind. If that happens, my chainsaw will be our only 2-stroke! Anyway, be happy that she enjoys the sport with you.

I'll join your group....
Matured from a Safari 2-up to the 'Old ' Venture and now the Venture Lite..
Is there a fee?
Will a cold beer do?

Only things I want to warn about the demo rides are:
1 We're newbies and made sure to be in the back but felt pretty lame as when the trade offs happened, we were pretty far behind everyone else.

2 The Yami guys are kinda dumb! The sleds were stock and I think anyone in their right mind would set them up with longer carbides and perhaps a studded track (last year was really icy). Just tell the peeps that they added a part or two (which everyone does). That way people walk away with a better understanding of what they're capable of.

BTW, my GF is 5'7" and 110 lbs., she's still intimidated but since she doesn't know how any other sleds feel, she couldn't compare (actually we did the poo demo, too). But she's fine on the Rage! I think steering might be even easier now that I shimmed them (and perhaps the ski savers, too). Bergstrom's RULES! We're using 6" Triple Points. Almost all our trails are twisty and we put on 150 miles this weekend.
