I have read all the posts I can find about the hand warmer issue for my 2008 Vector LTX. I purchased it after the season had ended and did not get to try it out. Here is the question. Should I fix it now before next season or maybe its not really that much of an issue and I wont have a problem with it. I would really like to here if there is anyone out there that feels they are not that bad. I know my Arctic Cat did not have good hand warmers and my Polaris did. I dont know what to think about the Yamaha Vector yet. I have put hand guards on to keep the wind off and if worse comes to worse I could put on my gauntlets (which I used on my Arctic Cat) but did not need on the Polaris. !!

So lets hear it - The good, the bad, and the ugly

Buy rockmeisters kit and put it on, simple install and it works.... well worth the cash.... do a search there is plenty of info on this.

X2! G.B.

I'd check with your local dealer if you can upgrade to 2010 spec...they got revised and suppose to be much WARMER maybe YAM will come out with some kind of upgrade kit for us previous models.

rocks kit works great, install guards just to keep the snow chunks down, also check out the dartless trick

cheap heated grip improvement

On my son's 2008 Vector GT, we removed the grips, carefully removed the heater elements, put a layer of cork on the bars, then reinstalled the elements and new grips. HUGE improvement in the warmth and total cost of about $30.

I put the big barn door windshield on . Warmers work fine, i'm warmer too.

There is a Yamaha dealer Here in Greenville,Mi. , Nelson's Speed Shop, that does that same fix. I don't know what they charge, but its supposed to work.

I bought Rock's kit at Haydays- yamaha has an upgrade kit that is cheaper- but no one can tell you how it works. You can spend the money on bigger windshields, hand guards, gauntlets and you might have warm hands in the "right" conditions. I figured if you are going to spend the $$$ get something that has a solid track record in all conditions. Thanks again Rock!!

You guys with the Rockmeister kits, how difficult is it to install - give it to me straight. I'm not very mechanically oriented, but I will attempt if it isn't ridiculously complicated. Also, what's the cost and where to order?
TIA.
